About the City of Clark

Like most small towns in South Dakota, we have strong values and help out our neighbors in their time of need. We are a tight knit community that gives as much as it gets back from our residents. On any given night, you can find half the town at the local sporting event and we are big believers in shopping local. 

Clark is a safe community. Not only do we have our local city police, the Clark County Sheriff's office is located at the courthouse right here in Clark. 

We understand that the amenities we provide to our residents improve our quality of life. Our parks are exceptional due to the dedication of our Lion's and Rotary Clubs, who have spent countless hours improving them. Please check them out when you're in town.

Our Clark Medical Building is leased to Sanford Clinic and Lewis Drug to meet all your medical needs.

City Hall, located at 120 North Commercial Street, is THE place to go to sign up for utilities, get a building permit or a pet license, speak with the Police Department, visit the Library, attend a council meeting and any other city government related inquiries.

Clark is the county seat. The Clark County courthouse is located downtown across the street from City Hall. Inside the courthouse you will find the Auditor, Treasurer, Register of Deeds, Highway Office, Director of Equalization, County Health Nurse, Extension Office, Clerk of Courts, Sheriff, Veteran Service and Emergency Management.
